In 2009 when the Pantry opened its doors, the future was uncertain, but our mission was clear–to serve our neighbors in need. For 16 years, we have focused on this goal through all types of challenges and circumstances. Thanks to our community supporters, we continue to provide food assistance to area families. Your gifts of time and treasure keep us going. We receive support from so many of you in so many forms. Some of our young neighbors recently donated the proceeds of their lemonade stand! Every gift, large and small, is critical to our mission and to the families we serve each week.
Unfortunately, the demand for our services continues to grow as benefits decrease and food insecurity increases. Each week, we provide food for 200 families from the Houston area, distributing pantry staples, eggs, fresh produce and basic toiletries. Our costs to provide the “basics” have increased, but we remain committed to offering these fundamental items. In addition, we distribute bread, sweets, meat, prepared meals, garden vegetables and other items donated by our many generous community partners.
From January through June 2025, we:
Distributed food to 5,057 families
Welcomed 17% first-time visitors
Served an average of 211 families weekly
Food insecurity is a real concern for many of our neighbors. Now, back to school expenses and other rising costs make putting food on the table even more challenging. We welcome donations of non-perishable food and funds to keep our shelves stocked. In addition, werely on volunteers five days a week in every season to serve our community.
You have always been there to help us meet the need. We know that we can continue to count on you!
