The only constant in life is change….or so they say. Change can be challenging, stressful and often difficult. Change also offers new opportunities for growth. At the Pantry, we know that change is simply part of what we do.
Each week, we see many new clients coming to us for help–their situation has changed and they need assistance in meeting their basic needs. Our long-time clients continue to struggle to make ends meet, living on fixed or low incomes that do not stretch far enough each month. Regardless of the reason, food insecurity in our community continues unabated.
Through October 2024, the Pantry served more than 8,100 clients, 20% of of whom were first-time visitors. We served 7,500 clients during the same time period in 2023. We continue to adjust to meet the increasing demand, but there are many days when we cannot serve all those that come to us for aid.
Having a firm foundation enables us to adapt to our changing environment. Our Pantry community–volunteers, donors, supporters and member churches–consistently steps up and provides what is needed, often before we ask. With increased food costs, greater client demand and less reliable food resources, your unwavering commitment helps us serve our neighbors in need despite the challenges we face.
As we near the end of our 15th year of operation, we have seen our share of change, but our mission to respectfully nourish our neighbors has remained constant. W
e are thankful for all that we have been able to do for those we serve. We wish each of you a blessed and joyous holiday season, and we look forward to facing new challenges together in 2025.
We serve 200 families each week and are 100% funded by your donations. Every contribution helps feed your neighbors in need and cover basic operational costs.
