After 15 years in operation,Heights Interfaith Ministries Food Pantry continues to grow and adjust to meet our community’s changing demands. When we opened our doors in 2009, we had a clear mission to serve families facing food insecurity. Our focus has not wavered and thanks to the support of our amazing volunteers, member churches, donors and partners, we assisted more families in 2024 than ever before. We have reviewed last year’s accomplishments, and the results are truly amazing!
In 2024:
We served 9,753 families, a 10% increase over 2023.
19% of clients served were new to the Pantry.
We distributed more than 630,000 pounds of food.
More than 335 volunteers provided 9,282 service hours.
We served an average of 195 families weekly who came to usfrom across the Houston area. Each client receives close to 60 pounds of food.We provide a nutritious selection, including non-perishable staples, eggs, fresh produce and basic toiletries, plus frozen meat, bread and sweets and other items as available.
We continue to face challenges in affordably sourcing even the most basic staples and adjust to address rising costs and uncertain supplies. Your donations of funds and food help us serve the growing number of families that come to us for assistance. Every gift, even the smallest, is put to use in feeding people in our community.
We are constantly amazed by the support we receive from all corners of our community. Every time we have a need, someone steps up to fill it. We have begun another year of service to our neighbors and we are ever thankful for all you do to help us fulfill our mission. We know that together we can meet any challenge!
Your donations help us serve close to 200 families every week. Every contribution supports our important mission.
Your financial gift fills carts and feeds families! Mail a check to the Pantry or make an online gift.
